Seattle, WA - January 1, 2013 – Cougar Mountain Baking Company wants to make our customers aware of a packaging change to our retail cookie dough. In lieu of a price increase per unit, we decided about a year ago to reduce the net weight of our cookie dough from 18 oz to 15 oz, but keep the price per unit the same, in effect, a per-pound price increase. Our last price increase was on August 4, 2008. Since then, many costs have increased and we have done our best to hold the line on our prices. In addition, we've gone to a completely paper-based cup/lid design (much like an ice cream cup) to replace our plastic tubs. This cup is sealed at our facility and it is completely recyclable anywhere a paper milk carton can be recycled. The packaging is completely printed both cup and lid and has a lot more shelf-presence. It's slightly taller, but narrower than before. We really hope this packaging change will make us more appealing and competitive in the marketplace.
